An important place in the effective development of the transport complex of the republic is occupied by scientific developments, within the framework of which proposals are formed to improve the economic, technological and investment policies of the industry, new technologies are created, samples of building materials are designed, modern highways are designed.
The main scientific directions for the coming years are:
- monitoring and formation of the basic legal space of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, the EAEU and the CIS in transport activities, unification and harmonization of domestic legislation, including uniform norms, rules and standards;
- forecasting the development of the republic's transport system;
- monitoring of transport services markets and improving the system of arranging international and domestic transportation, development and implementation of a methodology for surveying passenger flows;
- development of infrastructure and modern technologies in logistics and transport activities, taking into account compliance with environmental standards and ensuring transport processes;
- inspection and design of republican highways, improvement of aviation facilities, inland waterways, navigable hydraulic structures and ports;
- creation, based on digital technologies, of information, telecommunication and intelligent systems for managing transportation processes, introduction of electronic document management;
- development of proposals to ensure the safe functioning of transport systems, improving the process of ensuring road safety and environmental requirements;
- research of physical and chemical properties of materials and coatings of machinery components, development of resource-saving technologies;
- development of projects, goals and priorities in road management for the short and long term;
- increasing the service life of roads and artificial structures;
- development of highway structures to ensure their reliability and durability when passing heavy vehicles with high axle loads.
