Ecology, transport, and infrastructure: Minister met with the workforce of Borisov Sleeper Impregnation Plant

Thursday, 20 August 2026

As part of the Single Information Day dedicated to the theme "Environmental Standards: Everyone's Responsibility," meeting participants discussed the state of the environment and environmental safety in the country.

As noted, over the past decade, Belarus has seen a steady downward trend in atmospheric pollutant emissions, including a more than twofold reduction in emissions from road transport. This result has been achieved through the systematic renewal of the vehicle fleet, the introduction of stricter environmental standards for vehicles, the development of electric transport, and the modernization of the public transport system.

In the format of an open dialogue, the company’s employees asked the Minister questions that concerned them. Among the key topics raised by Borisov residents were: plans to build an overpass across railway tracks in the city, which is important given the increase in train speeds and in the flow of vehicles, as well as the development of electric public transport and transport infrastructure.

In addition, the discussion focused specifically on the prospects for navigation on local rivers and the reconstruction of sections of national and local roads in Minsk region.
