The theme of quality ran like a red thread through the program of the second day of the national road workshop

The practical part of the event included an inspection of road facilities in Grodno region.
At a section of the M-6 highway ongoing repairs, road workers discussed technologies for installing protective layers using cold-mold asphalt concrete. The specialized equipment used to apply the technology was demonstrated, with an emphasis on the advantages of the method.
The second project was a major overhaul of the pedestrian suspension bridge across the Neman River in Mosty. Such projects are rare in the republic. Specialists discussed the use of suspension cables manufactured by special technology. The process of replacing the bridge supports and testing the structure for strength generated considerable interest.
Working conditions for workers were explored during a visit to the LDD-544 of Road Maintenance Department-54 production facility. The facility showcased the process rooms and a modern vehicle servicing ramp, which significantly facilitates the work process, especially in winter.
We learned the experience of work on the operation of sections of the R-50, R-51, R-44 highways and the reconstruction site R-99.
Summing up the workshop, its participants noted the need for widespread use of advanced technologies, in particular, the Slurry Seal technology, as well as the high quality of work performed by road workers in Grodno region.
