The opening ceremony of the bridge across the Pripyat River took place with the participation of the President of Belarus

Sunday, 09 November 2025

The Minister of Transport and Communications, Alexey Lyakhnovich, and heads of road organizations participated in the opening of the renovated bridge in Mozyr on the eve of October Revolution Day.

The Head of State places special emphasis on road and bridge construction. This includes logistics, the potential for economic development in the regions, and comfort for citizens and visitors of Belarus. "Every new bridge is a road to the future," the President says.

Alexander Lukashenko ceremoniously cut the symbolic red ribbon. Representatives of the workforces of the organizations involved in the bridge's construction, as well as residents of Mozyr district, were invited to the ceremony.

As Alexander Lukashenko noted, "Bridges and roads are the most important task of the state. The state must focus on infrastructure." The President emphasized the importance of the bridge in Mozyr not only for the region but for the entire country. The previous bridge across the Pripyat River was built in 1958. After decades of use, it required reconstruction—construction work lasted 25 months.

Thanks to our specialists, the bridge has been transformed into a modern structure. It has become wider (now 10 meters instead of 7), features a spiral arch, an observation deck, a lift, and original lighting.

The renovated bridge was originally scheduled to open to traffic in May 2026, but the rapid pace of work allowed this to be completed by November 7.
