Belarus became a full participant in the Agreement between the governments of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on creating favorable conditions for international road transport on November 11, 2018. The competent authority responsible for the implementation of the agreement is the Ministry of Transport.
In his speech, Sergei Dubina noted: "The fact that Belarus is taking part in the discussion of filling the sectoral Agreement with real projects within the framework of the SCO is a historic event for our country. The SCO states are a promising market for the sale of Belarusian products, as well as the import of raw materials and high-tech goods. We pay great attention to the proposals of our partners on the formation and development of the ITC “North-South”, the initiative “One Belt - One Road".
During the meeting, an initiative proposal was voiced to expand the list of SCO transport corridors (currently 6) by including the territory of the Republic of Belarus. A decision was also made to transfer to Belarusian side two hundred forms of universal permits for international road freight transportation within the SCO transport corridors.
