Employees of the central office of the Ministry of Transport, headed by Minister Alexey Lyakhnovich, took part in the national campaign “Give new life to the forest!”

On the territory of Novogrudok forestry, with the help of the workforce of the transport establishment and enterprises of the industry, a young forest was planted on an area of ​​2 hectares - more than 8 thousand seedlings of pine, spruce and birch.

About 50 transport workers came out to plant trees in Korelichi district, Grodno region. The Ministry of Transport was joined by aviators and railway workers: the Department of Aviation, Baranovichi branch of Belarusian Railways and Minsk Civil Aviation Plant No. 407.

Minister of Transport and Communications Aleksey Lyakhnovich noted: "Belarusian people are hardworking and united. Today, transport workers, through their joint efforts, each of us, contribute to the preservation of forest wealth. This is our duty to future generations."

The goal of the large-scale campaign is to restore windfall and breakage forest areas. In Novogrudok forestry, which includes the forests of Korelichi district, 118.9 hectares were damaged after acts of nature. In Korelichi forestry, forest officers plan to plant about 40 hectares of damaged areas this autumn.

The workforce of the Ministry of Transport and enterprises of the industry annually take part in the campaign to create new forests. This year, they traditionally joined the campaign "Let's Restore Forests Together!" On the day of the national clean-up day, in honor of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus, employees of the establishment, together with road industry organizations, planted an alley of 80 linden trees near the memorial complex "Mound of Glory".
