Alexey Lyakhnovich took part in the grand opening of a modern painting complex at Minsk Civil Aviation Plant No. 407

Sunday, 21 July 2024

The plant has completed repainting the Tu-214 flying laboratory produced by Kazan Aviation Plant. An agreement to paint the aircraft at the production facilities in Minsk was reached this spring during a visit by Vladimir Pekarsky, General Director of Plant No. 407, to Kazan Aviation Plant named after S. Gorbunov, a branch of JSC Tupolev.

As Minister of Transport and Communications Alexey Lyakhnovich said at the solemn event, the high-tech complex for painting civil aircraft is a unique import-substituting project of the Union State:

"We started building a new modern complex for washing and painting the outer surface of aircraft in 2020. It was obvious that within the framework of the Union State, this important import-substituting project would enable our countries to establish closer cooperation in civil aviation."

Vladimir Pekarsky, General Director of Minsk Civil Aviation Plant No. 407, noted:

"Today is a significant day not only for our company, but for the country as a whole. We have built a hangar with a complex of high-tech equipment, which allows us to paint all types of aircraft at our plant. Thanks to this project, we have the opportunity to master a new direction in aircraft painting. We have done such work before, but now we have been able to move to brand new level."

The new painting complex was put into operation by Minsk Civil Aviation Plant in April 2024. This year, the enterprise also received a certificate from the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) to carry out maintenance of Tu-214 type aircraft.
