The Agreement on Permissible Masses, Axle Loads, and Dimensions of Vehicles Driving on the Highways of the EAEU Member States Included in the Eurasian Transport Corridors entered into force on May 17

Tuesday, 19 May 2026

"The agreement will play a significant role in reducing transportation costs and streamlining freight flows," noted Arzybek Kozhoshev, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

This ensures the technological unity of more than 14 thousand kilometers of EAEU highways.

  • Previously, due to differences in weight and size requirements, carriers had to refuse optimal loading. Now, businesses will be able to deliver cargo along Eurasian transport corridors without the need to split shipments or transfer some of the cargo to another vehicle.
  • Also, the carrier will not need to obtain an additional special permit, which was previously required in the case of lower weight and dimensional parameters in one of the countries.

The document made it possible to remove another obstacle that existed in the Union's internal market and to bring closer the creation of a common market for transport services.
