Starting May 25, temporary restrictions on axle loads will come into effect on Belarusian roads

From May 25 to August 31, on national highways (sections thereof) with asphalt concrete pavement from 11:00 to 20:00 at daytime air temperatures above 25 degrees, the maximum load per single axle is allowed to be no more than 6 tons.
The restrictions do not apply to vehicles and self-propelled machines:
- transporting passengers; live animals, flowers, humanitarian aid, bitumen, asphalt (asphalt concrete) road and concrete mixtures, road bitumen, hazardous goods, animal feed, grain, cereals, seeds for sowing, milk and dairy products, mail and postal cargo, as well as perishable goods;
- dried peat, peat-based fuel briquettes, etc.
- related to the elimination of emergency situations and the consequences of road accidents;
- for wheeled tractors used in agriculture.
This measure is provided for by the Decree of the Ministry of Transport dated May 5, 2026 No. 17.
