The Ministry of Transport's Department of Aviation summarized the results for 2025 and outlined plans for 2026

The meeting was chaired by Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Sergey Dubina. The keynote address was delivered by Igor Golub, Director of the Department of Aviation.

So, last year on air transport:

  • Passenger turnover was 111.2% of the 2024 level, while the volume of passengers carried was 108.4%.
  • Belavia Airlines operated scheduled flights from Minsk National Airport and other regions of the country to 23 airports in 12 countries.
  • Operation of a new aircraft type—long-haul wide-body Airbus A330-243—was launched (enabling nonstop flights to regions of Southeast Asia).
  • Scheduled flights to Minsk National Airport were operated by 11 air carriers.
  • In 2025, aircraft flight safety and aviation security at civil aviation facilities in the country were fully ensured.
  • Under Decree No. 297 "On the State Registration and Operation of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles," an automated information system for civil UAV registration was created and became operational on January 1, 2026.
  • Work is underway to conclude air service agreements with Thailand, Sri Lanka, and Jordan, as well as to amend the intergovernmental agreement between Belarus and China.
  • Negotiations were held with the aviation authorities of Kazakhstan, the UAE, China, Turkmenistan, Israel, Oman, Jordan, Vietnam, Iran, Zimbabwe, the Seychelles, Kuwait, and other foreign countries.
  • The first civil aviation pilots in the history of sovereign Belarus graduated from BSAA.

Speaking about plans for the development of air transport, the Director of the Department of Aviation of the Ministry of Transport noted:
"The main efforts will be focused on expanding the air travel market, increasing its attractiveness to the population, developing the route network, and improving the economic efficiency of air transport organizations."

Among other tasks for 2026:

  • Developing scheduled and charter air service
  • Increasing the aircraft fleet
  • Upgrading airfield and air navigation infrastructure
  • Improving the quality of service for passengers and cargo

The heads of OJSC “Belavia Airlines” and RUE “Minsk National Airport”, Igor Cherginets and Vladimir Chereuhin, spoke at the board meeting.

◽️In his closing remarks, Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Sergei Dubina emphasized issues of primary importance for civil aviation and called for the mobilization of all resources to fulfill the assigned tasks.
