An agreement was reached to provide a tariff exemption in the form of an exemption from customs duties for electric vehicles imported into a number of countries of the Eurasian Economic Union in 2026.
Andrey Slepnev, Member of the Board (Minister) for Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission, commented on the decision:
"The customs tariff regulation measure has already demonstrated a positive effect in the previous years of its implementation. We expect it to continue to foster the development of the electric vehicle market and charging infrastructure, as well as increase the share of environmentally friendly transport within the Eurasian Economic Union."
Exemption from customs duties is granted only to citizens permanently residing in Belarus, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.
