"Belarus – a link between Europe and Asia." Alexey Lyakhnovich spoke at the 2nd Forum of International Cooperation on “China-Europe” Railway Route

The main topic of the forum, which took place in China, was “Connecting Asia and Europe, Sharing the Future Together.”
Key points from Belarusian Minister of Transport's speech:
- Belarus is a reliable link in the logistics routes for container cargo transportation in communication with China.
- Belarusian Railways is capable of handling more than 30 container trains daily with a route speed of over 1,200 km per day.
- Belarus is actively participating in China's “Belt and Road” Initiative. Rail freight transportation is developing dynamically.
- Over the past 12 years, the brand of “container trains between China and Europe” has become a symbol of quality, efficiency and a multi-level system of cooperation (between governments, railways and transport and logistics companies) worldwide.
- To handle container traffic, Belarus has created a network of transport and logistics centers and cargo terminals. Our country has the capacity (in terms of terminal handling and train throughput) to significantly increase transit rail traffic.
- Under the aegis of the state-owned “China Railways Corporation”, container shipping projects are being developed on through schedules. In the first 10 months of 2025 alone, over 400 container trains passed through Belarus on through schedules.
- Within the framework of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative, close contacts have been established with major transport and logistics platforms in various Chinese cities.
- In Belarus, one of the priority areas for the development of the container shipping business is the creation of the necessary conditions for Belarusian enterprises to promote domestic products to Chinese market.
