A delegation from Belarusian Railways took part in a meeting of the Commonwealth Council on Railway Transport in Baku.
Participants also included representatives from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Estonia, the management of the CIS Executive Committee, the International Confederation of Railway Trade Unions, and the Organization for Cooperation between Railways (OSJD).
At the council meeting, coordinated actions were formulated among the railways of the Commonwealth, Georgia, Latvia, Estonia, and Iran to organize international passenger and freight transportation, jointly use freight cars and containers, and conduct mutual settlements for transportation and services.
The issues of the railway network's operation based on the results of nine months and the implementation of the objectives of the Express International system for the integration of international passenger transportation were considered.
The event included bilateral working meetings, as well as a meeting of shareholders of JSC “UTLC ERA” on the project's strategic development.
