The recommendations contain measures aimed at simplifying procedures affecting the movement of passengers (citizens of the five countries) by rail within the EAEU, as well as the development of Eurasian tourist routes using this mode of transport.
The document was prepared as part of fulfillment of the roadmap for the implementation of the main directions of transport policy for 2024-2026.
"The recommendations address promising areas for improving the mass service system for passengers using rail transport for mobility, including the transportation process, the quality of rolling stock, terminal (station) services, electronic ticketing, the integration of train schedules with other modes of transport, as well as proposals for the development of Eurasian tourist routes using rail transport," the EEC noted.
In the future, these recommendations will facilitate the accelerated development of rail passenger transportation, including through the introduction of digital technologies in passenger services, improved legal regulation, and the coordination of member states' policies in this area.
