Aviation companies in Minsk and Ulyanovsk have signed a major contract. Minsk Civil Aviation Plant No. 407 and Ulyanovsk Aircraft Plant "Aviastar" signed a cooperation agreement covering the supply of components and assemblies for the MS-21 aircraft.
Ulyanovsk Region Governor Alexey Russkikh, who attended the document signing ceremony, commented on the event:
"The signed agreement is the subject of lengthy negotiations and discussions. Preparations for it, including the transfer of technical documentation, took approximately two years. Currently, Minsk Plant No. 407 and the 558th Aircraft Repair Plant are already supplying components and assemblies for the Il-76 aircraft. Today, we signed a supply agreement for the MS-21 aircraft, which is assembled in Irkutsk Region, while the components and assemblies are manufactured here at Aviastar."
He noted that the plant also faces the major task of increasing IL-76 production, and therefore requires assistance in the manufacture of parts and components. "I believe the number of products manufactured in Belarus for our aircraft plants will only increase," said Alexey Russkikh.
