Belarus has begun creating a unified fare payment system for public transport

Tuesday, 21 October 2025

The system is being developed at SP “Minsktrans” processing center. It will be implemented in Minsk and throughout the country's regions. This was announced by Andrei Gladkiy, Head of the Ministry of Transport's Department of Automobile and Urban Passenger Transport, at a press conference dedicated to Motorist and Road Engineer Day.

A unified ticketing system for scheduled passenger transportation is also being developed in collaboration with enterprise “Capital Transport and Communications”. The project involves merging booking and ticketing systems into a single digital platform, accessible to passengers, including through mobile apps, and integrating electronic services for international passenger transportation into the SIS etc.

The unified state information system for ticket sales is expected to begin operating on May 1, 2027.

As a result, passengers will be able:

  • to receive up-to-date information on schedules, routes and vehicles of all road carriers in regular service
  • to choose the optimal travel route (from the suggested routes)
  • to track the movement of buses
  • to book seats, purchase tickets remotely, and pay for travel (baggage).

Currently, a corresponding draft decree of the Head of State has been prepared.
