Saturday, 05 April 2025

The talks between Alexey Lyakhnovich and Pakistani Minister of Communications Abdul Alim Khan took place as part of a visit by a delegation from this Islamic country to our country.

The agenda included cooperation in transport and logistics. A wide range of issues of interest touched upon various transport sectors, including aviation, road and rail transportation. The most promising areas were discussed, with an emphasis on practical steps to develop cooperation.

Pakistani Minister of Communications Abdul Aleem Khan: "Belarus is our highest priority. We are confident that the current visit of the Pakistani delegation will be historic and will bring our nations even closer together. Establishing reliable transport links will facilitate the development of trade and business between our countries."

In turn, Alexey Lyakhnovich noted that “we must create a sustainable system of transport and logistics services for mutual trade between Belarus and Pakistan.” Aleksey Lyakhnovich named the liberalization of the road freight transport market as one of the key conditions for creating an effective freight transportation system between Belarus and Pakistan.

Belarusian Ministry of Transport has currently developed logistics schemes for cargo delivery to Pakistan using international transport corridor infrastructure. Close cooperation has been established between logistics companies in the two countries.

Looking back, in November 2024, during Alexander Lukashenko's official visit to Islamabad, an intergovernmental agreement on international road transport was signed. In February of this year, a trilateral memorandum of understanding was signed between logistics companies from Belarus, Russia, and Pakistan.
