In the Year of Improvement, special attention will be paid to roadside service facilities along national highways

Sunday, 30 March 2025

The country has developed an effective regulatory framework governing the operation of roadside service facilities. The process for establishing and opening them is simple and straightforward for any investor. Legislation enables local authorities to freely allocate land for their construction.

"The preferential conditions created in Belarus for roadside service providers have made it possible to form a branchy network of service facilities and extend them across the road network," noted Leonid Zenkevich, Head of the Road Development Department of the Main Directorate of Roads of the Ministry of Transport.

Adjustments are currently being made to the general plan for roadside service development for 2021-2025, incorporating proposed facilities for tourists along highways, as proposed by the Ministry of Sports.

This year, development of a similar document will begin, covering the period up to 2030. It will be based on proposals from regional executive committees, concern “Belneftekhim”, and other service facility owners.
