The head of state heard reports from the relevant Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Sivak, Minister of Transport and Communications Alexey Lyakhnovich, and General Director of the OJSC “Belavtodor Holding Management Company” Yuri Masyuk.
The President stressed that the condition of roads is the most important issue. Belarus is implementing the state program "Roads of Belarus", and 2025 is the final year of the five-year plan.
On the development of transport links with satellite towns
One of the main issues is the development of Minsk satellite towns (Dzerzhinsk, Zaslavl, Logoisk, Smolevichi, Fanipol, Rudensk settlement). The task is to make the roads, leading from these towns to the capital, even faster.
"We need to create normal not only automobile, but also railway and other communications," said Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. "We can build an above-ground metro. For residents of satellite towns, the presence of such a transport system will be a big plus, because they will be able to get to the capital just in 15 minutes."
"In the next five years, we must resolve the issues of satellite towns, especially for Minsk. This should be a separate program or subprogram in "Roads of Belarus," the head of state said.
Belarus and Russia Discuss Construction of Moscow-Brest High Speed Railway
Alexander Lukashenko: "We agreed with the President of Russia that in the near future we will discuss the construction of a high speed railway through Belarus from Moscow to the West. At least to Brest. If the Westerners want to participate in this, we will work to Berlin. If not, to Brest and back to the East."
Put in order the roads between district centers and agro-towns
During the conference, the President noted: "We have built major roads, and we have good connections with regional centers from Minsk. However, motorways are not limited to international and national highways. We need to connect district centers with agro-towns - this is the most important issue. Therefore, the program must provide for the construction of roads from district centers to all agro-towns."
“More than half of the roads already exist, but they need to be modernized and put in order,” Alexander Lukashenko concluded.
