I sincerely congratulate you on the main holiday of Belarusian statehood – Independence Day and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders!
This holiday is a symbol of the sovereignty of our state, national pride, valor and glory. It embodies the centuries-old history of the struggle of the Belarusian people for independence, the opportunity to independently determine the fate of their country, carefully preserve and pass on to future generations the spiritual heritage of their ancestors.
July 3, 1944 is a significant date in the history of Belarus. Exactly 80 years ago, as a result of the successful Operation Bagration, Soviet troops liberated Minsk from the Nazi invaders, and then the entire territory of the republic.
The Belarusian people has paid a high price for the right to live freely on their native land. During the bloodiest war in the history of mankind, our country lost every third of its inhabitants. The pain of what we experienced is in the genetic memory of every Belarusian. It is the thread that connects generations. And it is this that taught us to cherish peace, value national unity, be true patriots, infinitely devoted to the Motherland.
We bow before the military and labor feat of soldiers and home front workers. Road workers, motorists, aviators, river workers and workers of the steel highway made a worthy contribution to the Great Victory. They were the ones who lifted planes into the sky, drove trains and trucks under bombing, built and restored roads, and after the war revived the wounded country from ruins. Their courage and heroism will never be forgotten!
We celebrate this great holiday filled with pride for our country and our people. With the firm conviction that day after day with our selfless labor we are building a happy future for our children in the name of our native Belarus.
