Belarus and Russia develop cooperation in transport control

Sunday, 07 July 2024

A working meeting of representatives of the Transport Inspectorate of the Ministry of Transport of Belarus and the Federal Service for Supervision of Transport (Rostransnadzor) took place in Vitebsk.

The parties discussed ways to unify legislation in transport activities within the Union State, as well as options for exchanging operational information about carriers obtained in the process of transport control in the territory of both states. They shared their experience in preventing offenses among freight carriers.

First Deputy Head of the Transport Inspectorate of the Ministry of Transport Yuriy Kostyuk noted:

"International transportation requires the same requirements on the territory of the Union State. The carrier and the passenger, reaching the border, should not experience any inconvenience, so we synchronize watches, develop common approaches and see where legislation can be adjusted. In addition, we are considering issues of mutual recognition of debts for travel on toll roads, for the passage of large-sized vehicles."
