Dear employees of water transport organizations! Dear veterans!
Please accept my most sincere congratulations on your professional holiday – Water Transport Workers Day!
Water transport is an important part of our country's transport system. In certain periods, it provided the bulk of transportation for consumers of the economy. As the infrastructure developed, the importance of water transport decreased. At the same time, it has an absolute advantage over other types of transport in terms of the costs of the work performed. And today, when the competition for markets has intensified, this is a serious argument for breathing new life into our blue highways and moving forward, mastering sea transportation.
We treat with respect and great gratitude the people who have linked their professional path with water transport, and this is a great merit of many generations of Belarusian river workers. It is thanks to the daily work, experience and knowledge of our close-knit work teams - port workers and ship repairmen, engineers and hydraulic engineers, shipmasters - that the industry lives and develops.
On this festive day, let me express my deep gratitude to all workers and veterans of water transport for their conscientious work, professionalism and dedication. I am confident that all these qualities will enable to ensure the reliability and safety of the country's waterways, because you still have many important milestones ahead of you.
